Centre for Rural Development and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi & Human Settlement Management Institute (HUDCO) are partnering to implement a “Rural Housing Knowledge Network Project” for the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
The objectives of the Project are
? To compile a comprehensive nation-wide Directory of Practitioners, Institutions and Practices related to affordable and sustainable solutions for Rural Housing
? To develop a web-based multi-lingual Rural Housing Knowledge Network Portal showcasing best practices and case studies of Rural Housing from various states of the country in terms of technologies used, materials employed, sustainability and cost effectiveness
? To organise two national-level “Rural Housing Learning Exchange” in year 2 and year 3 of the project and to bring together representatives from State and Central Govt, civil society organizations, architects and gras sroot innovators involved in Rural Housing
? To organize Regional Training Workshops on Rural Housing at the state level for skill upgradation training and for knowledge exchange among the network of practitioners and institutions
The organisation is looking for candidates for the posts of senior architects, junior architects, civil engineers and social scientists.

Project positions in the Rural Housing Knowledge Network Project being implemented by IIT Delhi and HSMI for the MoRD, GOI have been filled up. Akshay Goel has joined as Sr Architect, Heena Bhargava has joined as Jr Architect and Nirmala Khumam has joined as Civil Engineer. Gopikrishna Bali has taken on the responsibility of webmaster and Ashia Bagai has joined as Web Developer.
